I have written, and told you people, about many things, but I don't recall ever describing a plane, as in a real-life one. The only thing that I can relate to with this is the fact that all of us, or most of us, wanted to fly when we were little,
a crave that transformed itself into a wish for a helicopter later on in our childhood.
I'm the honest type, and will admit that I too wanted a helicopter when I was about, don't know, probably 7 or 8 years old. If back then, all thought was for power and not a single one on environment, then nowadays, the low emission and green and eco trends are the top notch. Now that I think about it, a helicopter would be very carbon emitting and not even close to environmental-friendly.
So goes for the fuel part, which is continuously on the rise, not good, that is. Exactly the same case with personal jets, since they don't quite run on water (yet, probably). If you're the kind that would actually afford buying your own chopper or airplane, and by chance, happen to
care about the ever degrading environment, then pay some attention here - from a British company working in China, Yuneec International, comes hope within the E430 - a prototype of an electric aircraft.
The company is planning to mass-produce this aircraft for the global market, and have it delivered to customers by 2011. As information is limited for now, I can only tell you that the E430 has two seats inside, and will deliver users a fuel cost of about $2 per hour of flight, definitely a lot lower than piston aircrafts, while the maintenance costs are also lower than that of one. Pricing is probably also lower, though I cannot say for sure, at the $89,000 point.
