Imagine a future where multimedia content can be streamed wirelessly from any device to your HDTV and you can certainly see where Zenverge and ProVision want to go with their new video over WiFi solution that can stream four simultaneous channels in HD.
Scheduled to be showcased at the at CableLabs 2010 in Keystone, Colorado, the technology uses ProVision's AXAR2010 platform to offer simultaneous real-time transcoding, encryption and streaming of media content trough WiFi to your HDTVs, PCs and Portable displays.
The AXAR2010 platform is composed of video software and MIMO antenna technology developed by ProVision together with Zenverge's ZN200 system-on-chip.
"Zenverge's ZEN architecture, with its industry leading performance and density, was designed from the ground-up to do just that by addressing the interoperability and bandwidth provisioning problems that have thus far prevented such a solution for the whole home. With ProVision's expertise in robust delivery of
video over standards-based
wireless networks, we have developed a complete solution for operators and OEMs," said Amir Mobini, Zenverge CEO's.
Zenverge's technology sounds pretty interesting but its widespread adoption depends on the support that OEMs and other product manufacturers show towards it.
There is however hope since current wireless transmission technologies, such as
Intel WirelessHD, can only stream video to one HDTV, but it will definitely take some time until ProVision's and Zenverge technology will arrive in our homes.
