I don't know if you've noticed but for some time now, I have been talking about a lot of upcoming devices using the Creative and ZiiLABS Zii StemCell computing platform. Well, it is about time we went for a more in-depth look at what exactly the Zii StemCell computing platform will be used in the future, seeing how Creative and ZiiLABS will be showcasing their technology at the China-based Zii Summit 2009.

As you pretty well know, Zii StemCell computing comes with its very own platform (aka Operating System) for developing rich interactive content, namely the Zii Plaszma, but it can also be adapted to work with Android, which is definitely an advantage if developers want to cut prices as well as research time. As far as its capabilities are concerned, it is a platform that can output high definition 1080p media, so I think that says it all.

The multimedia-oriented StemCell computing platform is meant to be used with a variety of devices such as a touch tablet PC, a netbook, Web-Box, a 360-degree multi-view camera system, ultra high-performance speakers, a piano keyboard for the PC, as well as a portable e-Book reader. But the main attraction has yet to come and by that I am, of course, referring to the fact that its main purpose is to be used as a mobile phone platform.

Why a mobile phone platform? Well, because, like I said, it is fully compatible with the Android Operating System, has OpenGL ES 3D graphics, complete SurfaceFlinger integration, accelerated web browsing and uses 1GHz ARM Cortex application acceleration and X-Fi audio. Seeing how the Zii summit has just begun, we've yet to have release dates, names or photos but worry not, my friends, for as soon as something pops up, you know I will be right here writing about it.
