eMagic Corporation has barely announced that Liteye Systems has come up with two new head-mounted display products, packing industry-leading OLED micro displays from the eMagic, of course, otherwise it wouldn't have been it to announce that. Built around
Liteye's patented prismatic optic, the new HMDs will also be capable of making use of Liteye's patented universal mount that will enable customers to locate the display in virtually any position.
“Our customers have come to demand the high performance, energy-efficiency and high-resolution of the eMagin SVGA OLED-XL display,” Rick Sondag, vice president of Liteye, said. “Liteye System’s newest products were all designed with the eMagin SVGA OLED technology for this very reason.”
In the picture above, you can see the LE-720A HMD, which is a high-performing and rugged solution for applications requiring situational awareness. Available in full-color SVGA or monochrome video, this lightweight product delivers a compact-size solution for portable computing, as well as remote viewing, to customers. In prototype stasis, LE-720A systems embedded into Oakley combat goggles are evaluated currently internationally by military OEMs. The HMD system can even be forged into rugged ballistic goggles, in
a wide variety of manufacturer options, aside from being perfectly suitable, if not the most, for hands-free, industrial data-viewer applications.
The LE-800, on the other hand (or head?) is the solution that targets the maximization of peripheral vision for helmet-mount applications. Furthermore, this is said to have been put together as the next generation of the company's see-through optical products. Last but not least, I bet it's very worthy to mention that it took Liteye years of development for this HDM here, taking feedback from multiple military and industrial customers into account, with the Liteye family being used in many applications such as infrared cameras, portable medical equipment, weapon systems and dismounted-soldier programs globally.
