To be honest, I didn't know until now that such technologically advanced locks even existed. This one
is really a thief’s worst enemy, being the most capable padlock I have ever seen. This security solution is perfect if you own a store, large storage, or have any type of property that needs to be protected from the “curious.”
iControl's mLOCK offers its users tracking, communications and the obvious security all at the same time. It is part of the iControl MATTS suite, which includes only mobile asset tag tracking systems and from what I can see in the press release, the newly announced mLOCK is already available.
mLOCK can be used on any type of door thanks to the traditional latch closing system and has special technologies that will detect door intrusion and immediately upload them to a
remote server. It will be aware of any type of hasp modifications, such as severe shock, cutting and opening outside its remotely
configurable geo-zone or radio network. The mLOCK combines all these technologies in order to act as a perfect guardian for your goods. You can even set “Trusted Zones” on it, to allow for usage in different places, without it starting the alarm as soon as it is moved, as it is capable of detecting motion as well.
If it is used to protect any type of movable good and it somehow gets stolen, the integrated GPS in the mLOCK will let you know where the respective good is at all times. It can connect to worldwide cellular (UMTS) and to wireless radio. These two connectivity features combined with iControl's “smart bag” design make the mLOCK a very adaptive solution. It will upload information on the iVIEW web server according to priorities (probably set by the user) and the networks that are available for it.
It comes with its own charging cradle, as it runs on a rechargeable battery. Its price has not been announced yet.
