Of course, Apple couldn't have picked April Fool's day to launch the
iPad, instead, they have chosen April 3 for officially bringing the Apple iPad on the American market. I suggest that on Friday, April 2, you go directly to an Apple Store after work, because there will be some serious lines forming at this event, as usual.
Also from the “as usual” category, the prices of the new iPad will be quite pretentious, which is the company's typical M.O. The price difference between the Wi-Fi only and the +3G models is of $200 USD, thus making “3G” the most expensive word yet, at $100 dollars per letter/number.
"iPad is something completely new," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "We're excited for customers to get their hands on this magical and revolutionary product and connect with their apps and content in a more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before."
Other countries that will receive the
iPhone on steroids will be Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the U.K., but this will happen in late April, according to Apple. All models will be available for pre-order on March 12, which is exactly one week from now. This means that you have a week to prepare your sausage styluses for this major event.
The
prices that the new iPad will be available at start at “just $499,” like the company's formal document states, which actually means $500 bucks. That's for the 16 GB Wi-Fi-only model. Add $100 USD and you will be able to get the 32 GB version and another $100 and you get the 64 GB iPad Wi-Fi-only model. The prices for the +3G version start at $629 and top at $829 USD.
