You know, it's very interesting to see just how far rumors can go nowadays. Up until now, people used to talk (a lot) about what product might company X launch and when, but things have taken a completely different turn lately. Thus, as you can remember from one of our previous articles, a company called
XSKN has gone as far as releasing a special protective case for a product that's not even been officially presented yet (or even confirmed, for that matter), namely the iPhone nano.
While we've talked a bit more about XSKN's reasons for launching such an accessory in the respective article, things are completely different for what you're about to see. Thus,
AppleInsider, a website dedicated to finding and analyzing the hottest news and rumors about anything related to the Cupertino company, has come by some pretty interesting photos regarding what can only be described as iPhone nano... knock-offs.
The pictures, which apparently come from Thailand, depict not one, but several counterfeit products, which shamelessly copy not only the iPhone's form factor (albeit at a reduced scale), but also its menus and some of the icons. However, it's funny to see that the “designers” proved to possess at least some limited amount of creativity, some of these things featuring slightly modified cases (as far as the colors are concerned).
While finding the manufacturers of these fake “iPhones” is most likely an impossible task, there's one question arising. Did they simply adapt the iPhone's form factor and make it smaller, or were they actually in possession of a working copy of a real iPhone nano, “borrowed” from a manufacturing facility in Asia? While the former possibility is most likely the true one, the latter is much more tempting, since it would mean that a nano version of the iPhone will actually come up at some point (hopefully, soon).
