If it were for one gadget and one gadget alone to be crowned king of all gadgets, then that would definitely be Apple's iPod, the most desired, envied and imitated music player of all times. In fact, the iPod's influence on people is so great that numerous other devices started to copy the looks of the Apple player, with clothing items, fashion accessories and even furniture looking more like the classy player than any of the competitor devices released on the market by companies like Microsoft or iriver.
However, entering the realm of oddities, the latest idea based on the iPod is, believe it or not, an ice cream bar, produced by a Norwegian by the name of Hennig Olsens and dubbed icePod. The chocolate covered-ice cream bar looks like an iPod, an iPod Classic, to be more precise, and to see that the name and design of the sweet treat are not just unfortunate coincidences (far-fetched, I know), just wait, because there is even more to it.
Each of the icePod ice cream bars comes with access to a free song by a Norwegian artist. Details are unclear as to exactly who is providing the download, though. When asked by the local media what he thought Apple's reaction might be to his product, that is, in case there would be one, Hennig Olsens replied that he didn't have any problem registering the name of the product, and he believes that the Cupertino-based company would find his idea quite amusing. He doesn't think that Steve Jobs would be irritated by the idea.
It appears that the ice cream is currently in production and is expected to hit the stores sometime this month, unless Apple decides to send its army of lawyers to Norway and put an end to Olsens' business.
