Just so you know, the following rumor is probably just that but since there's nothing else going on in gadgets’ world right now, I have decided to let you in on a little slip up regarding a new iPod touch 3G silicone skin case that showed up on an online store. But you know how these things go, some put announcements like this one for publicity mostly. So this is what they are going to get, bad publicity.
You know those “notice the difference” games in which two apparently similar pictures are put side by side and the player has to notice the difference between the images? Well, take a look at the picture attached to this article. Notice how the two case pictures are not only very low resolution but also... the camera holes are not symmetrical. You know, if I take a picture and flip it horizontally, I get a flipped picture but the same features show up.
Pardon my boldness, but with this low-quality picture made with the 30-day trial version of a freeware beginners program adapted after Microsoft Paint (I'm sure you get where I'm heading with this one), I have absolutely no clue why some would sell the story to be even remotely real since everything is evidently as fake as it can get. If I ask my 4-year-old nephew to draw the same picture using an optical mouse and Microsoft Paint, I bet he'll be doing a masterpiece nearly identical to what is shown here.
As for the iPod 3G, the third generation iPod, Apple was supposed to indeed add cameras to its next third generation iPods, the cameras being 3.2 and 5-megapixel versions. However, seeing how Apple hasn't said anything about a next generation iPod, nor its casing, I will treat this rumor for what it is: fake!
